“I was experiencing severe lower back pain, my GP could only help with pain killers, this would only mask the problem, not cure it. I was referred to Dr Fox by a family member as I was in desperate need of treatment and due to go on an extended sailing holiday in three weeks. In a series of consultations over two weeks the impossible happened, my pain disappeared. Now many months later and with the continued application of exercise suggested by Dr Fox the problem has not reoccurred. Great service and great cure!”

“I need to cancel my physio appointment I’m doing either a full Pilates session or most of one five days a week and it has made a big difference. I no longer have back pain and I feel much stronger! I will be in touch for another review in a couple of months but at the moment I think carrying on with regular your Pilates sessions will be enough, Thank you very much.”

“Thoroughly recommend Esther’s online Pilates classes. Exercise and stretch in the comfort of your own home. With clearly explained movements to either work at the easiest or hardest level, you can totally suit yourself. However, it is great to feel your own fitness levels improve and can gradually push yourself to improve to a higher level and feel really good about yourself. Thank you, Esther!”

“We have known Dr Esther Fox professionally for eight years. We initially met & have continued to participate in her excellent Pilates lessons. These are enjoyable, varied, well paced classes which follow the injuries & idiosyncrasies of her clients.”

“I started going to Pilates with Esther about 8 weeks ago as I was very stiff and my neck was very sore. I was a little nervous, but Esther made me feel very comfortable and I could work at the right level for me and did not feel I had to compete with others. After just a couple of sessions my neck pain was gone, and I feel so much better in my core strength and general wellbeing. I cannot recommend Esther highly enough.”

“Thank you so much for doing this. It is doing as much for our mental health as it is for the aches and creaks.”

Esther uses a scientific approach to Pilates together with encouragement and individual attention. This has kept me active over the past 20yrs . Also generating a sense of camaraderie with her and other class members. All important for continuing an active life .
Caroline Jennings aged 73 (who has had a number of conditions including sciatic pain, knee replacement and back pain).
I have been attending Dr Fox’s Pilates classes for a little over 18 months having been advised it would be beneficial for my lower back / sciatic problem. Since starting I have achieved so much more than just relief for my issue, I have in fact, turned my health around. I was extremely overweight and suffering from general stiffness and joint pain.
With the support, encouragement and positive energy I get from each class, I have managed to loose a great deal of weight (4 dress sizes), come off medication for hypertension and depression and generally live a happier healthy and pain free life. I was 63 when I started and now at 65, I am fitter and healthier than I have been in over 30 years. The difference going to Dr Fox’s classes has made to me is incredible. I truly believe I wouldn’t be where I am now without her.

A sedentary work life plus an underactive thyroid and interesting menopause journey has culminated in a number of issues particularly in
the lower back and right hip causing sciatica. Over the years I’ve had plenty of physio appointments but the underlying issues always return.
However, after my first visit to Esther, she explained her concept of “Movement is Medicine”. Basically, it’s about moving more and regularly
but doing it in a way that doesn’t exacerbate any underlying weaknesses and helps to strengthen your muscles overall.
I’m not one for sports but I’ve really enjoyed doing Pilates in Esther’s studio and her online sessions as well. To be honest, I’ve never worked
so hard in a “fitness regime” as I do in Pilates! There is a natural rhythm to the movements, they’re small, incremental and it’s about being
more in tune with your body and aware of what you can do as it changes from week to week.
Over the years, these weekly Pilates sessions have kept my back and hip stable and reduced my reliance on physio to keep moving.

Put simply Esther’s clinical knowledge, through focussed physiotherapy, and clinical use of Pilates have guided me from being barely able to walk on my left leg to full physical independence within a few months. Now two years later I’m probably as fit as when I was in the services in my 30s. I have regained not just physical strength and flexibility, but also an improved attitude to exercise and my food intake. It’s the whole package and I will be forever grateful.
